Sophie Meagher
Provisional Psychologist (she/her)
“I’m joining Neira Psychology as a Clinical Masters Placement from July-December 2026. I am a provisionally registered psychologist completing my PhD and Master of Clinical Psychology, currently in my 7th of 8 years of study towards registration as a Clinical Psychologist.
I have a warm, empathetic, and non-judgmental way of working with young people and adults, where I value each person’s uniqueness. If you choose to work with me as your therapist, I will aim to create a space where you can be yourself, feel understood, and work towards living a life that fits you well. I adapt my therapeutic approach to your needs, bringing a sense of calm, genuine care, and sometimes humour to our work together.
I draw from evidence-based therapies such as Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Schema Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy. I also strive to be neurodiversity-affirming in my practice and bring an awareness of how neurodivergence intersects with other life challenges.
Outside of clinical work, my PhD research focuses on the experiences and needs of young people and their families who are seeking help for endometriosis.
In my free time, you can find me with my three horses and my dog, exploring nature, or reading a fiction book.”
