A young man with short brown hair, glasses, and a mustache, smiling, sitting on a gray armchair in a room with a white wall, a couch with a floral pillow behind him, and a wooden bookshelf with books and a leafy plant on the right. He is wearing a brown button-up shirt, black pants, and a smartwatch.

Hey, I'm Chris. I work with adults who feel stuck, overwhelmed, or worn down by unhelpful patterns. Sometimes people come to therapy because something has clearly become too much. Other times, things look mostly fine from the outside, but internally they feel off.

A lot of the people I work with are much harder on themselves than they need to be, or even realise. They often believe this is how it should be—that if they stopped pushing, criticising, or holding themselves to impossible standards, things would fall apart. I see it differently. I think change starts with a more honest understanding of what is going on: what has shaped a person, what they have had to adapt to, and why certain ways of coping have made sense, even when they aren't working any longer.

I take the time to understand someone properly. I’m interested in what’s behind the obvious problem. The emotional learning, old experiences, fears, and protective strategies that keep a person stuck, even when they can intellectually see things differently. Someone might know, in theory, that they are safe, worthy, or good enough, but it still might not feel that way. I like to work in that gap.

I don’t see therapy as a me-fix-you process. I see it as us as working together to make sense of what is happening and build a plan from there. That might look like tools and strategies, but it might also involve deeper emotional work. I also think there is room for humour and lightness along the way.
